Business Licenses
WHO NEEDS A BUSINESS LICENSE?
Any individual or business providing sales or services within the city limits of Huntsville must obtain a business license. If any individual or business possesses a business license in another city within the state of Arkansas and does not have a business location within the city limits of Huntsville, a license is not required from the city of Huntsville. OBTAINING A BUSINESS LICENSE

- If starting a new business after Jan. 31, fee shall be one-half of listed amount.
- All applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s office in the City Hall building, by mail, or in person. We are unable to accept credit cards for payment. Mailing address:

Huntsville, AR 72740 - Renewals of licenses are due before July 31st of each year. Any person, firm, corporation, or agent operating a business without a license shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined. (Ordinance #05-4)
- A new application form must be submitted each year along with payment. Renewal forms are mailed early July, each year.
- Fee Schedule is as follows:
- Non-profit status – $0 (no application required and no license will be supplied)
- 1 Owner or employee (full or part-time) – $30
- 2-10 Employees (full or part-time) – $50
- 11-50 Employees (full or part-time) – $75
- Over 50 Employees (full or part-time) – $100
- Business licenses must be displayed in a visible location, if applicable.
- If you would like your business listed on our “Local Businesses Page,” please complete the appropriate blanks on your business license application.
MOBILE VENDING UNITS
Mobile vending units, motorized or non-motorized, selling goods, wares/merchandise, or food.
Requirements:
Mobile vendors must submit the following documents to the City Clerk’s office or by email to [email protected].
1) A City Business License (either from Huntsville or another city in AR)
2) AR Dept. of Health certificate (if food items sold)
3) Mobile Vending Permit Application (this form not required for participation in city events)
- The vending unit may not exceed 160 square feet in size.
- Unit must maintain a site location with a minimum of 3 parking spaces.
- If a health certificate is required, vendors shall display the certificate in a manner visible to customers and provide a copy of certificate with Mobile Vending Permit Application.
- If vendor does not own land where unit is to be placed, vendor must provide in the application, signed permission from the land owner. (Ord. #2016-01, Sec. 20)

PEDDLERS & SOLICITORS
Peddlers and Solicitors – those going door to door offering goods, wares, or merchandise for sale.
Requirements:
- Must register with the Huntsville Police Dept. located at 200 E. Main St., during the hours of 8-3:30 p.m.
- NO city business license required.
- Hours of operation are limited to 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony in the last 5 years.
- Must not have been convicted of a sexual offense or drug related offense.
